RE: Trailer Broken Into

I leave 5-7 pungee sticks under each vent when I store the RV.

RE: Tax Rebate arrived this morning

Although the rebates need not be repaid directly, the federal government is not reducing spending to offset them. As a result, the rebates have been paid for by borrowing, and the amount borrowed, plus interest, must be repaid by American taxpayers at some point in the future (assuming the US doesn't default on its debt obligations).

RE: Jeep GC 5.7L Hemi should be fine, right?

Vapor, thanks for the suggestions. I don't have any kids, and I usually go camping with only the girlfriend so I won't need to set up beds. My current TT is a little Fun Finder X160. One reason I'm trading up is because I'm tired of setting up the dinette bed. (And the other is that I now own a JGC w/ a hemi!) :)

SemperFiCop, I believe the GCWR is 11,400 and the payload is 1190.

RE: towing with new Jeep Liberty

My last tow vehicle was an '02 3.7L Jeep Liberty LTD, which at the time was rated to tow 5000lbs. I towed a cruiser RV Fun Finder X160 with no problems, but it was only 17' long and weighed under 3000 lbs full. That said, It seems that even with an optimal set up, your Liberty is pushing the envelope trying to tow your new TT.

Frontier RV Hyperlite feedback

In researching candidates for my new TT I've found a model (25RK) in Frontier RV's new Hyperlite line has everything I'm looking for. I'm wondering if anyone out there owns one or has heard anything about its quality? Thanks in advance, Ed http://www.frontierrv.com/hyperlite.html

RE: Jeep GC 5.7L Hemi should be fine, right?

One of the interesting features of my '08 JGC is the built-in anti-sway function. It automatically detects sway and varies the braking power to individual wheels so as to conteract and dampen the sway. Hopefully I won't need to test this! I'll be adding dual cam sway control to my existing Reese WD hitch, just to be extra safe.

RE: Jeep GC 5.7L Hemi should be fine, right?

Thanks for the advice. I think the wheelbase of the JGC is 109.5". That's one reason why I'm not considering any TT's > 29' long. I'm hoping to find one in the 24-28 foot range.

Jeep GC 5.7L Hemi should be fine, right?

Hello, I recently bought a new TV: Jeep GC 5.7L 4x4, rated to tow 7200 lbs. I'm thinking about purchasing a new TT: the Frontier RV Hyperlite 25RK. It's 4930 dry, GVWR is 7000, box is 25' long. I'm thinking it'll probably weigh about 6000lbs loaded, which is 83% of the towing capacity of the Jeep. Does anyone foresee any problems with this setup? I've been limiting my TT candidates to those under 29' and weighing less than 5200 lbs dry. I'm thinking that any TT meeting those requirements should be ok. Do you agree? Thanks in advance, Ed
